GMT awarded exciting new contracts in the face of fierce competion
GlobalMediaTech has been awarded contracts for the redevelopment of five dance clubs in Barcelona: The contracts include sound, display, lighting and security systems.
There was more good news when a further contract was awarded to the company for a luxury appartment installation. This install includes hi-end lighting, built-in security, sound and mulit-room audio systems.
In both cases, time-critical planning and a proven track record in the UK marketplace were cited as decisive factors in the successful GlobalMediaTech bid for the contracts, when running against fierce competition from local Spanish and Catalan companies.

Mediacast 2005
Meetings with the Directors of Tanberg, regarding uplink mpeg4 encoders for BBC Broadcast Services, how to get 4 High Definition TV Channels out of one transponder, with the possibility of increasing this to 10 Channels of Hi Def TV with advanced compression techniques.
Good job the techie was with us, the algorithms get too complicated for some of us !
Realise now why so many BBC bods were present, obviously there last fully paid jaunt before strike action and redundancy, why so many beards & suede hush puppies?
Some impressive networking technology involving ones mobile phone to command TVs to change channel and lights to dim. Why not shout ones wife like normal people.
Perhaps women with microchips might be the way forward after all !
Many new & fascinating pieces of hardware on display, surrounded by worried looking Chinese & Koreans, for a non-smoking venue the air was decidedly thick & acrid. Perhaps cigarette ash is new fibre optic of the millennium, must try it on service calls.
All in all a small but haphazardly put together exhibition now, wheres the bar?

Globalmediatech Zurich Premiership Final Twickenham

First a vote of thanks from all the members of the Board at globalmediatech, and their guests for what has now become a fiercely contested ( for places that is ) trip down to Twickenham, to Clive Billington.
The Hospitality was up to its usual high and liquid standards, or so I believe from the one of us that could remember.
Traffic was a complete and utter nightmare, why is it that in the UK two police officers can cause chaos when replacing the perfectly adequate operation of a set of traffic lights!
It will never cease to amaze me how much business can be conducted in the cauldron of sound that is Twickenham, Tetleys Beverages may well have something to do with this.
Two promising contracts were concluded with a handshake and a nod of thanks, more of those in the months to come. Petra & Bejam I thank you.
I believe we got to the Hotel round about midnight on Saturday evening god those heels were high!
Oh and bye the way London Wasps won, unlucky Johno all the best in your retirement.
